The Singapore Sling is a classic cocktail with a delightful combination of flavors. Here's a recipe to make a Singapore Sling:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) gin

  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) cherry liqueur (e.g., Cherry Heering)

  • 1/4 oz (7.5 ml) Cointreau or triple sec

  • 1/4 oz (7.5 ml) Benedictine liqueur

  • 1/4 oz (7.5 ml) grenadine syrup

  • 4 oz (120 ml) pineapple juice

  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lime juice

  • A dash of Angostura bitters

  • Ice cubes

  • Pineapple slice and maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Fill a shaker with ice cubes.

  2. Pour the gin, cherry liqueur, Cointreau, Benedictine, grenadine syrup, pineapple juice, and fresh lime juice into the shaker.

  3. Add a dash of Angostura bitters to the mixture.

  4. Shake the ingredients vigorously until well chilled, usually for about 10-15 seconds.

  5. Strain the cocktail into a highball or Collins glass filled with ice cubes.

  6. Garnish your Singapore Sling with a pineapple slice and a maraschino cherry. You can also use a cocktail umbrella for a tropical touch.

  7. Serve and enjoy your Singapore Sling!

Note: The Singapore Sling has a complex flavor profile with a nice balance of sweetness and tartness. It's known for its pinkish-red hue, which comes from the grenadine and cherry liqueur. Adjust the grenadine syrup to your preference if you want it sweeter or less sweet.
